Could £40m Premier League transfer report give Aston Villa a problem with Tyrone Mings recruitment?

Aston Villa are hopeful of signing Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in the signature of Nathan Ake this summer.

As reported by The Sun, the Dutch international is being considered in a £40 million swoop from Bournemouth.

Tottenham have been linked with Ake before and with Toby Alderweireld’s future in doubt, this will come as no surprise.

But could it be bad news for Aston Villa?

The recently promoted side clearly want Tyrone Mings permanently this summer. Mings was a star at Villa Park after joining in January on loan from the Cherries.

Fans and players love him and Aston Villa are desperate to get him signed up permanently.

As reported the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa are ready to make a £15 million formal offer for the player in the coming weeks.

However, Bournemouth might not be so forthcoming with a sale should Ake suddenly be Tottenham bound.

Bournemouth will struggle to reject £40 million for the player and in Mings they would have a readymade and back to form replacement.

Aston Villa might want to get Mings tied down as soon as possible before Bournemouth start having some difficult decisions to make.
