Could £25m-rated Tottenham man's Wednesday absence be a sign he will feature against Arsenal in Sunday's NLD?

It was a struggle on Wednesday night. A typical Spursy performance. But could the absence of one player, suggest he is being rested for Sunday?

Tottenham squeezed past Wolves on penalties. It came after going 2-0 up through Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele, only for Wolves to draw 2-2.

The game went into penalties. Spurs had Pierluigi Gollini and the woodwork to thank, as Spurs qualified for the last 16. They face Burnley.

It was a much-changed side for Tottenham. Ndombele got 90 minutes, after a tricky display against Chelsea. Harry Winks was nowhere to be seen.

Surely, an entire match for Ndombele means Nuno is likely to go against selecting the Frenchman for the off against Arsenal?

Tottenham midfield: Does Winks absence suggest Arsenal start?

Oliver Skipp has been indifferent, and he also got 90 minutes against Wolves. Dele Alli is crucial to Nuno’s Spurs. Dele is likely to start.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will come back in to anchor the Spurs side. So, who partners the Dane and Dele in midfield? Winks’ absence might be decisive.

With Dele in midfield, surely Nuno will want two other defensive midfielders – hard-working, engine-room like players to nullify Arsenal.

He will also want players that get the North London rivalry, and there are none more so than Winks. His absence on Wednesday might be a hint.

Winks not even being included on the bench surely means the £25million-rated (Stretty News) star is likely to start against Arsenal on Sunday.
