Tottenham have been very good at pinching other clubs’ academy players in recent years.
They took Will Lankshear from Sheffield United last year, they pinched Jude Soonsup-Bell from Chelsea not too long ago, while Herbie James came from Man City over the summer.
Tottenham seem to have a real eye on some of the brightest young players in the country, but, unfortunately for Spurs, they’re not the only Premier League powerhouse with this idea in mind.
Indeed, many of the Premier League’s top clubs have the same youth transfer policy in place, and some of Spurs’ academy stars have been targeted in recent times.
Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has been discussing some of Tottenham’s young stars, and he says that both Callum Olusesi and Mikey Moore both had chances to leave the club recently with Manchester City said to have looked at both players.

City looked at Spurs’ youngsters
Gold shared what he knows about these two young stars.
“You’ve got Mikey Moore, who is a real incredible talent. Callum Olusesi, as well. Both Moore and Olusesi they convinced to stay at Spurs. Many, many top clubs, I think the likes of Man City were looking to get them and teams like that.”
Promising
While it’s never nice to hear that Man City are sniffing around your young talents, the fact that Olusesi and Moore turned down a move to Manchester is promising.
Indeed, it’s never easy to turn down the treble-winning champions of Europe, but it would appear that both of these players believe they have something special on offer at Tottenham as things stand.
The fact that Moore and Olusesi were even courted by City would suggest they’re extremely talented, and the fact that they’ve decided to stay at Spurs is a huge boost.
These two are certainly players to keep an eye on in the coming years.
