Leeds United could be set to miss out on one of their summer targets, with Fabrizio Romano claiming that Club Brugge’s Charles de Keletare is pushing to join AC Milan.

De Ketelaere reportedly requested to sit out Club Brugge’s opening league match of the season amid links to Leeds and Milan.

The 21-year-old did sit out the Belgian’s Super Cup win last weekend as boss Carl Hoefkens left the forward on the bench. And it seems the talented youngster is set for a move away from Brugge.

Romano update on Charles de Ketelaere

Fabrizio Romano claims that AC Milan remain confident over signing De Ketelaere this summer.

The Serie A champions will continue talks with Club Brugge over the next couple of days in an attempt to finalise a deal.

De Ketelaere is said to be ‘pushing’ for the move to Milan and favours a move to the Champions League side.

Leeds still strongly linked to De Ketelaere

Although their chances may seem slim, United are still strongly linked with a move for the Belgium international.

Belgian outlet HLN reports that Leeds have already made an official bid of £34.1m for De Ketelaere.

The Daily Mail also claim the club are hopeful that a higher offer and a move to the Premier League can convince the Club Brugge man to move to Elland Road.

De Ketelaere was brilliant in the Belgian league last season and put up eye-catching numbers. The forward registered 14 goals and seven assists in 33 appearances in the league.

The talented youngster is also extremely versatile as he can play as a striker, on either flank or in the centre of midfield. It’s no wonder that Leeds boss Jesse Marsch is interested in bringing him to Elland Road.

But Leeds face a tough fight for De Ketelaere’s signature in AC Milan. And with the youngster seemingly favouring a move to the Serie A champions, Marsch will be hoping that Milan fail to find an agreement with Club Brugge.
