It’s been another turbulent week when it comes to Tottenham Hotspur, with Antonio Conte’s interview after the Burnley match causing waves throughout the media.

Conte launched into a passionate rant about how results were unacceptable, players perhaps not being right, and, potentially anyway, he himself not being up to the job. Since then, it is believed talks have taken place between Conte and Tottenham’s board.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, part of those discussions were Conte telling the club to start acting and planning now for the summer window and potential new arrivals. Among that, Conte also wants players identifying who will be leaving the club come the summer.

“I am told that Conte has no intention to leave the club. But he wants Tottenham, immediately, to focus on the future. It means to work on transfers for the summer, to decide what kind of players should leave and be confirmed. What the targets should be, if there’s some opportunities on the free-agent market,” Romano told his YouTube.

“He wants the whole club to change the mentality. He wants a winning mentality and this is what the players love, they love that he wants to win. And the club knows that to continue with Conte, they need to go with him.”

Spurs have a very winnable game against Leeds United today as they look to return to form in the PL.

TBR’s View: Tottenham Set For Their Biggest Summer Yet

Levy has almost backed himself into a corner here. There is no point in hiring one of the world’s elite managers and then simply sitting back and not changing things.

Sure, Conte might be able to do better with what he has got already. But this Spurs squad needs a complete revamp and the summer is the time to do it. It needs winners, experience, and younger players already good enough to play.

Levy, then, will have to open the chequebook once more you feel.
