Tottenham Hotspur produced one of the performances of the season yesterday as they saw off Manchester City at The Etihad yesterday.

Harry Kane produced a masterclass performance to help Antonio Conte’s side take a huge three points and put themselves right back in contention for the top four. Kane’s double ensured Conte has something huge to build on now with the team, and with another game in midweek, hopes are high among supporters.

Of course, most people are still getting over the late win at City. And as we well know, Mr Conte wears his heart on his sleeve and didn’t half celebrate the winning goal in injury time.

But after running over to Ryan Mason when Kane’s header his the net, Football.London reports that Conte actually turned his attention to another Tottenham man. And the surprising figure Conte chose to embrace in the heat of the moment was out of favour defender, Joe Rodon.

Rodon has been on the periphery of things ever since Conte came in. There was talk of a move away in January, however, the former Swansea man has stayed put for now.

TBR’s View: Conte Looking To Get Everyone Onboard

Conte is well-known for his wild celebrations and emotion in games, and yesterday was the biggest example yet for Tottenham fans.

The embrace with Rodon is an interesting one. Whether it was just a spur of the moment thing or Conte purposely sought Rodon out, is unknown. But it could well be a bit of Conte trying to ensure everyone in the squad is fully invested in the team ethos.

Certainly, if all the Tottenham players do embrace the ways of Conte, then success is a real possibility.
