Tottenham spring back into action this weekend as they take on Newcastle United as the Premier League returns for the crucial run-in.
Spurs are well in the hunt to make the top four and Antonio Conte will be hoping his players come back from international duty fit and raring to go. Of course, a number of his Tottenham squad enjoyed good breaks. Among those to do well were players like Joe Rodon and Steven Bergwijn, while Harry Kane also did well for England again.

And according to Antonio Conte, he and his coaching staff deserve some credit for Rodon and Bergwijn being able to go away and put in such good performances.
“To see the performance of Joe and also Steven Bergwijn, it means maybe we’re doing a good job with them. Joe is not playing many games with us but despite this he was fit,” Conte said of the pair (football.london)
“Joe is a good player but a really really great man. He had broken two ribs. He did every training session. He was always available and I know very well the pain you feel when you break a rib. It means you’re a great man. Joe has to continue in this way, work hard and have this satisfaction. I repeat to play this way with Wales in an important game in World Cup qualification, it means you’re working hard and well. I always say this: I have a group of players working well, they’re very focused and working to improve the level.”
TBR’s View: Conte Getting The Buy-In From Tottenham Players
Conte isn’t boasting here, he is just simply stating how he feels his coaching staff have helped the fringe players continue to be ready. And to be fair to him, he does have a point.
Rodon and Bergwijn were both exceptional in midweek and in a way, they’ve given Conte food for thought when it comes to team selection. Bergwijn, in particular, will be delighted with his goals.
For Conte and Tottenham, this is nothing but a positive. Having all the squad fit and firing only shows that they’re all bought into the current regime.
