Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has been ruthless in his approach to pre-season and has left Spanish left-back Sergio Reguilon at home.
Reguilon is among four big names, including Gio Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele, and Harry Winks, who have been left out of the squad for South Korea that was confirmed just now by Spurs’ official website.
The announcement from Spurs confirmed that the quartet will spend their time preparing for the new season back at Hotspur Way. But it is the clearest indication yet from Conte that he is ready to make big changes to his squad this summer after a number of new arrivals.

The omission of the ‘phenomenal‘ Reguilon is the most surprising of the four names mentioned here. Despite talk that Conte would be open to selling the Spaniard anyway, to see him not included at all is a bit of a shock move from Conte.
Reguilon will now face a big decision on his future and will no doubt be looking to move on. If he’s not in the plans even for pre-season, then it suggests he won’t get a chance at all in the actual season.
TBR’s View: Reguilon Omission Is A Surprise Of Sorts
It was rumoured that Conte would be ruthless and it looks very much like that’s the way he’s gone here.
Leaving Reguilon out completely is a bold move and one which will show the rest of the Spurs squad that Conte means business when it comes to getting success.
Other players will now know that if standards drop a bit, then they risk the full wrath of Conte. It won’t affect Tottenham and their pre-season plans, but this is a clear indication from Conte that things are changing under him.
