'Conte is a Gooner': Some Arsenal fans can't believe what Spurs' new boss has done on Instagram

Tottenham Hotspur only confirmed the appointment of Antonio Conte as their new manager yesterday and the Italian’s social media team has given Arsenal fans something to laugh about already.

Conte is undoubtedly one of the best managers in world football. He has won trophies at Juventus, Chelsea and most recently at Inter Milan and if everything goes to plan, he will end Spurs’ trophy drought.

Tottenham fans, predictably, are delighted with the appointment. The Nuno Espirito Santo gamble just didn’t work out, but with a proven winner like Conte now in, they can be really optimistic about the future.

The Italian’s social media gaffe, however, is something Spurs supporters will not enjoy.

Conte posts an Arsenal chant on Instagram

After his appointment was confirmed yesterday, many fans sent congratulatory messages to Conte online. The Italian, or his social media manager, decided to share quite a few messages on his Instagram stories.

Most of them were genuine messages wishing the Spurs boss good luck, but one post, seemingly from an Arsenal fan, consisted of a picture of Conte with a song about Tottenham’s fierce rivals playing in the background.

The audio in the Instagram story shared by Conte features the popular Gunners chant: “Arsenal FC! We’re by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen, and it’s Arsenal.

We expect Conte’s social media team to take that down anytime now, but multiple Arsenal fans have already recorded the gaffe. Here’s one of them…

After recovering from a terrible start to the season, Arsenal fans have found their voices again.

If the win in the derby at the Emirates wasn’t enough to mock their next-door neighbours, this error by Tottenham’s new manager on Instagram will surely be brought up on social media every other day
