Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has revealed that Bryan Gil is “a possibility” to start against Manchester United on Wednesday.

The Spurs boss, talking to football.london, said he’d prefer to stick with 3-4-3 despite Richarlison’s absence and Dejan Kulusevski still a doubt.

With Harry Kane and Son Heung-min all-but guaranteed to start, that leaves a third place up for grabs in attack.

And Conte said Lucas Moura and Gil are both possible options on the wing.

The former has recently returned from injury and the latter shone with his cameo against Eintracht Frankfurt last week.

Conte also suggested that Ivan Perisic could line up as a striker in one of the front positions.

Football.london asked the Tottenham boss whether Lucas is fit enough to start against the Red Devils.

“Lucas Moura can, yeah, be a possibility, replied Conte.

“Gil can be a possibility, Perisic like in a three like a striker is a possibility.

“I have another training session to make the best decision.

“You know we like to play with a 3-4-3 with the three strikers.

“And if we can’t change, I prefer to continue to play with the 3-4-3 otherwise we find a solution.

“I think we have the possibility to continue to play with the 3-4-3.”

Gil staking a claim for Premier League game time?

Tottenham fans will surely be excited by the prospect of Gil returning to Premier League action.

The 21-year-old hasn’t featured yet in the league this season, but he’s starting to give Conte food for thought.

Gil joined Tottenham last summer and showed glimpses of real quality, leading Graham Roberts to call him a “little superstar“.

However, Conte didn’t feel he was quite PL-ready, and sanctioned a loan move to Valencia in the January window.

Gil returned to N17 in summer amid an uncertain future, but the Tottenham boss was convinced to keep him around.

The Spaniard then delivered a dazzling cameo off the bench against Eintracht Frankfurt.

This led to renewed calls for Conte to start playing Gil in the Premier League again.

And while the Tottenham manager has called for patience, could we now see the young Spaniard bring his exciting skills to the pitch against United?
