Conte & Paratici have reportedly decided on 'perfect' £25m Spurs signing, he's the missing piece - TBR View

A mid-season World Cup hasn’t come without its criticisms, but Tottenham Hotspur will likely welcome it.

Much was expected of Spurs at the start of the season after heavy investment in the squad.

And while Tottenham haven’t done terribly, they’ve got a bit of work to do, on the pitch and in the transfer window.

Several pressing issues remain, such as the wing-back positions, No. 10, and strength in depth up front.

Now, according to Tuttomercatoweb, Tottenham are looking at a player who could tick at least two of those boxes.

Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici apparently view Atalanta’s Ruslan Malinovskyi as a ‘perfect’ addition at N17.

Tottenham will surely have learned their lesson in terms of taking to the pitch without Dejan Kulusevski.

Obviously there’s not much they could’ve done about him getting injured. Still, it shows they need adequate cover for him.

Malinovskyi, a versatile and experienced set-piece expert, is a great shout for Tottenham on that front.

The 29-year-old would also tick the new playmaker box, as this is his primary position at Atalanta.

That said, Conte could play him in a variety of positions, including up front and potentially at wing-back.

Malinovskyi’s age experience in Serie A and Europe means he should – in theory – hit the ground running for Spurs.

And in terms of price tag, Calciomercato claim he commands a £25million fee.

Perhaps a little steep due to his age, but if he can help push Spurs on in the Champions League and up the Premier League table, he’d have been worth every penny.

Tottenham have several missing pieces at present, and Malinovskyi would cover quite a few of these.

Tottenham target Malinovskyi – factfile

Primarily a No. 10, Malinovskyi is an outstanding free-kick taker.

Last season, he registered 10 goals and seven assists in all competitions for the Bergamo outfit.

Since joining Atalanta in 2019, he has made 142 appearances for the Serie A outfit across all competitions.

The “dazzling” midfielder with a “thunderous” left foot has scored 30 goals and provided 28 assists.

Malinovskyi also has considerable experience at international level, having won 51 caps for Ukraine.

Fans on Twitter have compared him to Kevin De BruyneMiralem Pjanic and Bruno Fernandes.
