Tottenham’s defeat at Burnley in midweek is still resonating firmly around the club, mainly because of the weight behind Antonio Conte’s post-match comments at Turf Moor.
Conte was clearly annoyed, emotional, and concerned at the manner of the defeat. Following the game, the Italian questioned aspects of the club, his own future, and the mentality of his players. Certainly, it was an eye opening rant from the Tottenham boss.
And according to a report from The Athletic, things didn’t get much happier as the Tottenham camp made their way home from Lancashire. They report how tensions were high on the flight home and Levy and Conte didn’t engage in any sort of conversation. Of course, there is a caveat in there that Levy isn’t exactly Mr Talkative with any manager after a defeat.

But on this occasion, it only adds more fuel to the fire. It is also claimed, however, that Levy is desperate for Conte to succeed and is said to be mortified at the prospect of him failing. Further, he is also said to be planning the constructive talks that Conte hinted at post-Burnley.
These next few weeks could be vital for Spurs in general. A win this weekend, and everything might be hunky-dory once more. Well, in the short-term at least.
TBR’s View: Vital Weekend Coming For Tottenham
If there was ever a weekend where Conte needs his team to win, it’s this. And to be honest, they couldn’t have a better opponent to try and get that win against than Bielsa’s Leeds.
Leeds are getting hammered at times and have conceded ten in two games. If Tottenham can find their scoring boots then there is a chance for a big scoreline once again.
Above all else, Tottenham’s players need to show they can do it. Question marks are there and certain players need to answer them quickly.
