There are slightly confusing reports doing the rounds regarding potential Celtic interest in Gambia international defender Omar Colley this week.
Celtic are believed to be in the hunt for another centre-back this summer and the Sampdoria man is the latest central defender to be linked with a move.
Primo Canale and Samp News 24 are reporting that Colley is on Celtic’s radar, as well as English sides Newcastle United and Burnley.
The imposing centre-half is coming off the back of an impressive season in Serie A and is reportedly valued in the region of €15 million (£13.5m).

However, both sources credit this information to a gambianewspapers.info report, which in turn sources Gambia News. Neither report from Colley’s homeland mentioned Celtic.
That information appears to be coming from the Italian side of these reports, so perhaps they know something not documented in Colley’s home country.
Colley would undoubtedly be an impressive signing for Celtic but at that price might be just slightly outside the price-range available to Neil Lennon.
It is a tedious link and one Celtic fans can perhaps take with a pinch, or a bucket, of salt. However, it is another name to keep an eye on for Celtic fans this summer.
