There have been conflicting reports this weekend over Everton’s apparent transfer pursuit of Lyon striker Bertrand Traore.
Everton were first linked with Traore at the start of this month. As reported by L’Equipe, Everton were ready to swoop on the Burkina Faso attacker.
Things have certainly gone quiet in that respect in recent weeks. But over the weekend the rumours came back in force.

Telefoot reported that Everton were still in the running for the 23-year-old. The report claimed Lyon were ‘currently discussing’ the transfer of Traore with Everton.
But that report has been immediately denied by the Liverpool Echo. They report that Everton ‘are not in talks’ for the former Chelsea youngster. The claims are called ‘highly speculative’.
TBR’s View
It is a repeat of a story that broke last summer. On that occasion, it was then Bordeaux winger Malcom who was linked with a move to Everton. However, the Echo quickly shot down the reports and the Brazilian headed to Barcelona.
On this occasion, once again, it is perhaps best to listen to the local paper. For now, it seems any interest in Traore is not being acted on by Everton.
