Arsenal line-up v Wimbledon: Martinelli starts, brilliant 20-year-old on bench
Arsenal will hope to make it three wins in a row in all competitions and four from their last five tonight.
The Gunners, who won their last two Premier League games after losing their opening three, are in League Cup third-round action.
Arsenal host AFC Wimbledon at the Emirates Stadium in a game in which Mikel Arteta has rung some changes.
A combination of playing a lower-league side at home and a huge derby against Spurs at the weekend means Arteta has dropped some big guns.
That said, this competition represents one of only two realistic trophy chances for Arsenal this season.
Here is who Arteta has named in his starting XI and bench against the Dons:
Arteta has reinstated Bernd Leno in goal, while the back line consists of Cedric Soares, Rob Holding, Pablo Mari and Nuno Tavares.
The midfield consists of Albert Sambi Lokonga, Thomas Partey and Ainsley Maitland Niles.
Up front, Gabriel Martinelli returns to the XI – he was an unused substitute for Arsenal’s last three Premier League games.
Also in attack, Eddie Nketiah makes his first senior start of the season, and Alexandre Lacazette also features.
Hale End prodigy Charlie Patino was tipped to feature, but he’s not in the matchday squad.
Bukayo Saka earns a rest, with the 20-year-old on the bench alongside Karl Hein, Calum Chambers, Sead Kolasinac, Mohamed Elneny, Emile Smith Rowe and Folarin Balogun.
