Liverpool have been handed a huge boost ahead of the clash with Manchester United this weekend, with Sadio Mane confirming he is fully-fit and ready to go.
There had been some concerns over the fitness of Mane after the FA Cup win at Aston Villa saw the forward appear to pick up a heavy knock.
Liverpool fans, then, had been sweating on the fitness of their talisman ahead of the visit of the Red Devils but Mane, speaking to the club’s website, said there is nothing to worry about.
“Yeah, it was just a knock and when I got it, it took a few minutes to settle down. It was like a dead leg, but on my hip – not my back. After the game, I put an ice pack on it and it was fine. I am completely fine and looking forward,” Mane said when quizzed on the knock.
Pictures had emerged this week of Mane in training but there was some nagging doubt in the minds of some, who feared a not quite 100% Mane for the top of the table battle.
Mane is made of tough stuff, though, and is apparently raring to go against United.
TBR View: Huge boost, nothing more to be said
Any time Sadio Mane declares himself fit after any sort of injury, then it can’t be considered anything but a massive boost for the Reds.
Mane is so important. He can win games on his own and like Mo Salah, is integral to the entire set up of Jurgen Klopp’s team.
If Liverpool are to see off United, then they need Mane at his brilliant best so this is welcome news on the red side of Merseyside.
