Comparing record of Liverpool ace Sadio Mane to Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus
Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp is regarded as one of the elite managers in the world right now and it’s safe to say he’s left an impression at every club he’s been at so far in his career as a head coach.
He started his career in management with a seven-year stint at German club Mainz 05, where he lead them into the Bundesliga for the first time in the club’s history.
The German then took charge at Borussia Dortmund in 2008 and he managed to win two Bundesliga titles during that time, which was so impressive considering the competition from Bayern Munich.
He lost a Champions League final to Bayern at Wembley in 2013, but his spell at Dortmund really put his name up there as one of the best in the business with an exciting brand of football at the heart of it.
Klopp, 52, has been at Liverpool since 2015 and has won a Champions League trophy, plus his side are on the brink of the Premier League too.
There can be comparisons made between the explosive Dortmund team under Klopp to the side he’s now built at Anfield.

Mane’s entire Liverpool career has been under the watchful eye of Klopp since he joined from Southampton and during that time he’s gone from a good player to a world-class one.
The 27-year-old left-winger has become a serious favourite on Merseyside for his constant goal threat and he so often drifts into central areas to sniff out chances.
Meanwhile, Reus was occupied the wide left role for Dortmund when they were at their dazzling best under Klopp and he linked up with him at the Westfalenstadion in 2012.
The 30-year-old is captain of the German side still now and has rediscovered some form of late, but he was at his peak several years ago.
Both individuals were transformed into world-beaters under Klopp and there statistics make for an interesting read.
Mane has 77 goals and 34 assists in 161 appearances for Liverpool under Klopp at present.
Meanwhile, Dortmund counterpart Reus scored 53 goals and 45 assists in 121 Dortmund games under Klopp.
It’s the Liverpool man that shades it in goals per game with 0.48 to 0.44, but the Dortmund winger has a 0.37 ratio in assists per game compared to 0.21.
Klopp would surely have an impossible task on who he would select if he could choose just one player in their peak between Mane and Reus, but it goes to show the impact he has had on some of the attacking players he’s worked with.
