Comments from 2016 highlight why Celtic will be dream move for Christopher Jullien

Celtic are reportedly looking into the signing of Toulouse defender Christoper Jullien. L’Equipe is reporting that the 26-year-old has visited Parkhead ahead of a potential move to Celtic this summer.

The Daily Record have since reported that Celtic are interested in the player, who could end up costing around £10 million.

He would be seen as a like-for-like replacement for Dedryck Boyata, who has left Celtic for Hertha Berlin.

The 6ft 5ins defender is certainly a talented player and one Celtic fans can get excited about. A former France Under-20 World Cup winner, in a team that contained Paul Pogba, has previously spoken of his desire to play for a big club.

Speaking to France Football in 2016, he highlighted how he felt after stepping into Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena whilst a Freiburg player.

“The day after the match against Bayern. There, I said to myself, ‘one day, I will play in a big club and I will show that my place is in a stadium like the Allianz Arena, where I will be able to show what I can do.’ I have caught this desire and determination since that day.

“And I use it everyday. That’s what allows me to get up, to outdo myself, to spend more time in the weight room.

“ A club that has always made me dream? Manchester United.”

Whilst he mentioned Manchester United as his dream club, when it comes to stadium atmosphere even they cannot rival Celtic and Parkhead.

With European football also on the cards, Celtic is the perfect location to make Jullien’s ambitions come true. Celtic will hope they can get their man this summer.
