'Coming in cold': Some Arsenal fans refuse to believe this detail on Odegaard's £30m move
Incoming Arsenal signing Martin Odegaard could be registered in time to feature against Chelsea this weekend.
According to the Athletic, the Gunners are confident that the £30m deal to bring the Real Madrid star to the Emirates Stadium will be completed by Friday.
New players have to be registered by midday on Friday if they are to feature in the Premier League this weekend. And there is growing confidence that Odegaard will join in time to play against Chelsea.
The Gunners signed the Norwegian international in January initially on a loan deal. But with Odegaard failing to impress Carlo Ancelotti in pre-season for Madrid, the playmaker has made the decision to leave Spain.
The midfielder will become Arsenal’s fourth signing of the summer window and could take the club’s spending past the £100m mark. The north London side have brought in the likes of Ben White and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Indeed, Odegaard’s return has been met with plenty of praise from Arsenal supporters on social media. However, some fans refuse to believe that a deal will be wrapped up by Friday.
Arsenal are notorious amongst supporters for taking their time when announcing new players. And fans on social media think that this will be the case for Odegaard. Meaning he will miss the game against Chelsea.
