Arsenal fans have been discussing William Saliba once again on Twitter over the last 24 hours, after the Frenchman opened up on his move to Marseille.

Saliba was once again sent out on loan by Mikel Arteta, with the defender considered not quite ready for Premier League action just yet.

The Daily Star has reported that Saliba himself opted and pushed for a move to Marseille. The Gunners, meanwhile, wanted the defender to remain in England for his development.

“It was I who chose Marseille. Arsenal preferred that I go to England but I knew that here it was the right choice. I pushed and pushed for that,” Saliba said.

Saliba’s spell in France has started well. He’s already earned praise from the Marseille club president.

But Arsenal fans seem unimpressed with the stance from Saliba. It seems his initiative has left an impression on the Gunners fans on Twitter, with some calling him out for taking a so-called ‘easy option’.

Here’s a look at what some Arsenal fans said, as William Saliba spoke out on his move to Marseille this summer.
