‘Come off it’, ‘it’s a no from me’: Some Everton fans not impressed by transfer report

A number of Everton fans have laughed off reports suggesting that Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey could be earmarked for a Goodison Park move this summer.

According to 90min, the Toffees have the Welsh duo in their sights as they seek to establish themselves as one of the Premier League’s elite.

Bale has found himself surplus to requirements at the Spanish capital club, with just 11 starts in La Liga this term, and could be willing to leave the Bernabeu.

Ramsey, meanwhile, only joined Juventus last summer from Arsenal but the report claims that he has grown frustrated with life at the club, having made just nine Serie A starts this term.

With both players reportedly being unsettled at their current clubs, 90min claims Everton officials have discussed the prospect of bringing both players to Merseyside.

The report adds that, while both players would certainly be expensive salary-wise, the Toffees accept that they’ll have to loosen their purse strings if they want to progress as a club.

However, many Everton fans reckon the prospect of bringing Bale and Ramsey to Goodison Park is, quite simply, a non-starter.
