‘Come back’ – Jack Grealish sends Instagram message to former Aston Villa team-mate Carles Gil

Aston Villa star Jack Grealish has contacted former team-mate Carles Gil on Instagram and asked him to return to the West Midlands.

Gil posted a video on his official Instagram account and Grealish commented on it with his tongue-in-cheek request.

Grealish said: “Gillly come back to villa”, accompanied with three emojis: praying, football, and crying with laughter.

Gil replied to Grealish with a comment which might get some Aston Villa fans excited. The Spaniard said “it would be a pleasure to play with you again my friend!!”

This prompted some Aston Villa fans to call for this idea to be put into action with a return for the creative midfield playmaker.

Gil joined Aston Villa in January 2015 from Valencia and scored three goals in 34 appearances for the club.

But following Aston Villa’s relegation, the ex-Spain under-21 international joined Deportivo La Coruna, initially on loan but then on a permanent deal.

Gil now plays in the United States for MLS side New England Revolution after making a late January switch across the Atlantic.

The 26-year-old has natural talent and Aston Villa fans feel that he did not quite reach the level he could have in England.

And it appears he has a good relationship with Grealish and rates the 23-year-old midfield star highly.
