Everton defender Seamus Coleman received a red card during the 1-0 defeat to Burnley at the weekend.
The Toffees have now lost their last four games and manager Marco Silva is under mouting pressure at Goodison Park.
The defeat has seen the club slip into the relegation zone for the first time this season, with Newcastle United beating Manchester United the day after.
Everton were not helped at Turf Moor in their bid for points, with captain Coleman getting himself sent off.
The Republic of Ireland international picked up bookings in each half, and will now miss Everton’s game against West Ham United after the international break.
One man who should be looking to take advantage of Coleman’s absence, is summer signing Djibril Sidibe.
Sidibe is yet to start in the league for Everton since his loan move from AS Monaco this summer.
But Coleman’s dismissal against Burnley should see him deputise – and it’s a real chance for him to become a regular fixture in the side.
Coleman’s form has been questionable this season, but Silva has stubbornly stuck by the 30-year-old.
Frustrated fans have been calling on the Portuguese to use the World Cup winner in Coleman’s place, and surely now he will get his chance to shine.
