Former Ghana winger Laryea Kingston, who is now a youth coach at Danish side FC Nordsjaelland, has been commenting on the future of talented teenager Mohammed Kudus.

The 19-year-old has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs after an impressive season in Denmark. The Ghanaian has scored 10 goals in 24 games this season for the club and that has attracted Premier League suitors.

As reported by France Football last month, Everton and Newcastle United are both keen on the player.

If it comes to a choice between those two sides, then Kingston is in no doubt regarding where Kudus should go. For him, Everton is the superior choice, as he explained to Goal.

“The only thing is he should consider a club where he feels he could play week in week out. He’s young, so when he goes and he’s playing, it’s going to build his confidence but when he goes and he doesn’t get playing time, that’s when his confidence goes down and his performance will drop.

“Looking at Newcastle and Everton, for me I think Everton will fit his game because they give a lot of young players chances. Even the English FA mostly pick youth players at Everton [for national teams], so they will help him develop.”

It is likely that Kingston is mostly impressed by Everton’s current under-23 set-up, which has been performing brilliantly in recent years under the guidance of David Unsworth.

Everton have also utilised several young players in recent times. Mason Holgate and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have become first-team players after joining from elsewhere whilst Tom Davies and Anthony Gordon are currently in the Everton first-team.

Kudus is also a target for clubs in Italy and Gazzetta dello Sport recently suggested that £4.5 million might be all it takes to secure his signature this summer.

At that price, Everton will undoubtedly be considering making a move for the talented teenage forward.
