'Cmon Brands', 'better than Iwobi': Some Everton fans react to reported interest in 'top talent'
Everton are reportedly eyeing Nikola Vlasic, who previously played for the Toffees.
The 23-year-old joined Everton from Hajduk Split in 2017, but he didn’t have a great time at Goodison Park.
Vlasic made just 12 appearances for Everton and went out on loan to CSKA Moscow in 2018.
He spent a season on loan in Russia before joining permanently, and he is now one of their key players.
Vlasic has made 103 appearances for CSKA, scoring 33 goals and claiming 20 assists.
He has also won 22 caps for Croatia and is in line to represent his nation at Euro 2020.
Some Toffees fans have been giving their thoughts about the potential interest on Twitter.
“Everything is possible”
Vlasic’s agent told Russian outlet Soccer that Everton haven’t yet been in touch over his client.
However, he refused to rule out a potential Goodison Park return.
“Everton has not contacted me about Nikola, and this is not a question at the moment,” he said.
“But who knows what the future holds. Everything is possible.”
Everton could land a “cog at the heart of almost every move”
According to The Athletic, Vlasic is “the cog at the heart of almost every move for CSKA.
“Vlasic is key in progressing the ball upfield and has provided 11 goals and five assists in 25 league appearances this season.”
The outlet speculates that the 23-year-old is currently worth 30m euro, or around £26m.
