Celtic take on CFR Cluj in their next Europa League tie and one of the Romanian club’s players has suggested the Glasgow side will not be taking them so lightly this time around.
The Bhoys faced off with the Transylvanian side already this season. Celtic were knocked out of the Champions League at the qualifying stage following a 5-4 aggregate loss against Cluj.

Cluj were subsequently knocked out in the next round by Czech outfit Slavia Prague and will now face Celtic again in the Europa League.
Cluj defeated Gaz Metan 3-0 in the Romanian Liga I yesterday and will, therefore, go into the game full of confidence. Speaking to Telekom Sport after the game, veteran attacker Ciprian Deac suggested that Celtic made a mistake of not taking Cluj seriously last time around, a mistake they won’t make again.
“Each victory brings a good morale to the team. Victories bring victories.
“A tough match awaits us on Thursday. I’m sure Celtic will treat us much more seriously after the two matches we had with them.”
TBR’s View
There is no doubt that Celtic did not perform at their best level when they faced Cluj earlier this season. After picking up a 1-1 draw in Romania, the thought was a comfortable night at Parkhead would see Celtic into the next round.
However, Dan Petrescu’s side came out firing and Celtic struggled to hang with the mentality of the Romanian outfit.
That mistake will not be made on this occasion and Celtic fans will hope that means a more positive result on Thursday.
