Some Sunderland fans have reacted with dismay to the report claiming the Black Cats have pulled out of the Tony Gallacher deal.
Earlier this week, the Northern Echo reported that the Liverpool left-back was set for a loan deal at the Stadium of Light.
And Lee Johnson subsequently confirmed that Gallacher was “a player on a list of ten or twelve options” Sunderland were looking at.
However, the Daily Mail has now reported that the Black Cats have pulled the plug on the deal.

The outlet claims Liverpool were prepared to cut Gallacher’s contract short, which would’ve enabled him to join Sunderland on a free.
The Reds apparently wanted a sell-on clause in the deal.
However, Sunderland have reportedly changed their minds, and the deal for Gallacher is now off.
For all we know, the Black Cats may have found a candidate they wanted more.
But some Sunderland fans think that, given the Black Cats haven’t got a recognised left-back at the minute, they should’ve gone for Gallacher anyway.
Conor McLaughlin and Callum McFadzean have left, and Denver Hume is still deciding whether to take up the Black Cats’ offer of a new deal.
