Glasgow Rangers have tweeted an image of Ibrox ace Ryan Kent along with his praise of the club amid interest from English side Leeds United.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard told BBC Sport early last week that the Whites had contacted the Glasgow club over Kent, but said their opening bid was “strongly rejected” and sought to make it clear he is “not for sale”.

However, the Scottish Sun went on to claim that the Elland Road side, newly promoted to the Premier League, is not ready to give up the fight for the talented attacker, and is prepared to increase his offer to £14million.

On Monday, Rangers shared a graphic of Kent, which includes quotes from the 23-year-old saying: “Every time I go out on the pitch I just want to give my best for Rangers.

“It’s a massive football club so I’ll continue to do right by Rangers. I can’t thank the fans enough, they’ve always been supportive of me.”

A hint for any clubs seemingly wanting to snap him up? Some Rangers fans certainly think so:

“(Alfredo) Morelos needs to go because if Rangers need to sell somebody, as we are all led to believe, they cannot lose Ryan Kent,” Gers legend Kris Boyd recently told Sky Sports. “If they have an aspirations about winning a league title, they cannot lose him.

“He is their best player, you can have the best striker in the world, but if you do not have anybody to create opportunities for him and make things happen in the final third, it does not matter who is through the middle.”

TBR View:

While Leeds are in need of strengthening their ranks and appear to have a midfielder on their wishlist, Rangers have begun the season superbly and have major ambitions of silverware including a 55th Scottish Premiership title, not to mention denying Celtic a 10th consecutive crown.

The Whites have heavily been linked with Udinese and Argentina ace Rodrigo De Paul in recent days so the likelihood is that they’ll get him instead of Kent, who in turn can help Steven Gerrard’s side to glory this season.
