Reported Arsenal target Carlos Soler has been described as a great fit for the Gunners, according to Valencia legend Fernando Gomez, in conversation with Tribal Football.
A report in The Mirror from February claimed that the 23-year-old is high up on Arsenal’s wishlist, despite having signed a new contract at the club just before Christmas.
The outlet claimed that the Gunners have already laid out the groundwork by registering their interest to Valencia before the January window and will revisit the interest in the summer.

Soler, a dynamic and technically gifted playmaker, is one of a number of academy graduates who have become first-teamers at the Mestalla, alongside winger Ferran Torres and left-back Jose Luis Gaya.
While the player is believed to have a €150million (£140million) release clause, the Daily Mail has claimed that Valencia face a battle to keep their best players amid concerns over their finances, particularly in wake of the football shutdown caused by the global health crisis.
The outlet adds that Valencia want at least £36million if they are forced to sell Soler, and although Arsenal are believed to want the price tag lowered further (The Express), Fernando’s comments suggest that he would be a very smart acquisition for the Gunners.
“He’s another great player. As I said with Ferran Torres, Soler could also play for many other clubs. Another great player,” Fernando told Tribal Football.
“Carlos is very similar to Ferran, with less skill, but with a lot of vision and defensive work that, added to his offensive and technical profile, makes him a very complete player.
“Arsenal have been playing attractive and colourful football for many years. Carlos knows how to play that kind of football.”

According to the report in The Mirror, Soler is regarded as one of Spain’s best young prospects and tipped for the Spain national team.
Although £36million seems quite a high fee for a player who’s still relatively raw, has a tally of just 11 goals and 17 assists in 141 club games, and hasn’t played for his country at senior level yet, the plaudits keep coming his way.
In addition, if the price tag were to go further down, given Valencia are reportedly in need of selling players, then Mikel Arteta could do worse than making further enquiries.
