Juventus have held fresh talks with the agent of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the last few days, but Tottenham Hotspur are not willing to loan the Dane out in the January transfer window.

That is according to a report from Calciomercato, with notes that Massimiliano Allegri wants to bring the 28-year-old to Turin on loan next month.

Remarkably, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has featured in all but one of Spurs’ Premier League games this season. The former Southampton captain lost his place in the side to the likes of Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr following the appointment of Ange Postecoglou.

Juventus hold fresh talks over potential Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg deal

However, Hojbjerg has still been a key player for Tottenham. Nevertheless, it appears that his agent is keeping his options open heading into January.

Calciomercato reports that Hojbjerg’s agent is in contact with Atletico Madrid. Meanwhile, fresh talks with the Juventus hierarchy have been held in the last few days.

The report adds that the Old Lady would only be able to sign the £20 million star on loan in January. Tottenham meanwhile, would want a fee and are not interested in a temporary deal. Therefore, it appears that there are plenty of hurdles to clear before he ends up in Serie A.

Hojbjerg is interested in joining Juventus. So that may prove to be a factor with discussions set to continue.

Tottenham have little reason to consider loan deal

Hojbjerg has a big problem if he hopes to leave Tottenham Hotspur in January. Spurs are set to be without Bissouma and Sarr in the early stages of the new year due to AFCON 2023. So the likes of Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp could have an important role to play.

Hojbjerg has the quality to be an ‘outstanding‘ player. And Ange Postecoglou has kept him in his plans, even if his role has been reduced this season.

Tottenham have every right to dig their heels in and make it clear that he is not leaving on loan.
