Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool could be able to sign Joshua Kimmich for €50 million (£43 million).
That is according to Bild journalist Christian Falk, who has reported Bayern Munich’s stance on a potential exit for Kimmich.
So, what has been reported about Liverpool target Joshua Kimmich? Let’s take a look.
Liverpool would have to pay £43m for Joshua Kimmich
Well, Liverpool have been linked with Joshua Kimmich. Earlier this month, Bild journalist Christian Falk reported on X that the Reds are interested in signing the Bayern Munich midfielder in the summer of 2024.
Falk claimed that Manchester City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season, are also keen on Kimmich, who earns £288,000 per week (SalarySport) and was described as “world-class at right-back and in midfield” by Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann in 2022.
The reporter has now claimed that Bayern are open to selling the 28-year-old, who can also operate as a right-back.
The journalist has added that if Kimmich does not sign a new contract, then Bayern could cash in on him for €50 million (£43 million). Newcastle United have also been linked.

Falk wrote in CaughtOffSide: “Bayern Munich are now in a situation where they’re willing to talk about this, as Kimmich also has an idea in his head of leaving in the last year of his contract without signing a new one – a situation Bayern would like to avoid as they’d end up losing a lot of money.
“Bayern would like to have €50m for Kimmich. They know this could be hard to get with just one year left on his contract come the summer. On the other hand, he’s a very good player and English clubs have a lot of money. If Bayern don’t get Kimmich on a new contract, they have to sell him.
“If Liverpool and Manchester City decide not to move for him this summer, then Bayern still have a problem on their hands as Kimmich continues to have Xavi on the mind – whom he continues to look up to – and the feeling’s very mutual for the Barcelona coach who would love to sign him in 2025 when he’s a free agent and the Catalan giants also then have a chance to land him.”
My View: Liverpool should bid for Joshua Kimmich
In my opinion, Liverpool should make a bid for Joshua Kimmich in the summer of 2024. If £43 million is all it would take for the Reds to secure the services of the Germany international, then they simply have to get a deal done.
Yes, Liverpool signed Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch in the summer of 2023. Curtis Jones is also a very good option in midfield.
But, when you have got the chance to bring in a superb player like Kimmich, you simply have got to be in the mix.
Kimmich is 28 now and is at the top of his game. He is also a serial winner, having clinched the Bundesliga eight times and the UEFA Champions League once with Bayern so far.
