Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Besiktas forward Semih Kilicsoy in recent weeks.

Turkish outlet Fanatik recently reported that Tottenham are eyeing the 18-year-old forward, who is one of the Superlig’s best young attacking talents.

In January, they claimed that Spurs were in pursuit of Kilicsoy along with the likes of Aston Villa, Napoli and Borussia Dortmund.

The report also claimed that the Turkish giants are unwilling to let the 18-year-old leave for any less than €25million, or around £22million.

Although Kilicsoy didn’t move in the January transfer window, the summer may well bring about a change of scenery for the player.

And the likes of Tottenham will probably be excited about what Besiktas board member Feyyaz Ucar has said about the player.

“I want to say that he will play for Besiktas for many years, but I don’t think we can keep him,” Fanatik quote him as saying.

“He is one of the most talented Turkish players in recent years. Vincenzo Montella will also invite him to the national squad.”

Although Tottenham signed Timo Werner in the January transfer window, he’s just on loan to begin with.

And even if Spurs decide to buy – there’s reportedly a £15million option to sign permanently – there’s always scope to bring in exciting young talents.

Kilicsoy certainly seems to fit that bill, as he has burst onto the scene in Turkey this season and looks like a star of the future.

He has dazzled for his club this season, registering eight goals and an assist from 19 games. This includes seven goals and an assist from his last seven.

Although the transfer window is now shut until the summer, considering how little business was done by Premier League clubs, there could well be an unprecedented amount of movement at the end of the season.

If that’s the case, Kilicsoy could potentially find himself with many suitors, so Spurs will have to work hard to sign him.

That said, Tottenham have already signed Radu Dragusin and Lucas Bergvall ahead of Bayern Munich and Barcelona respectively, so they’ll fancy their chances.
