West Bromwich Albion are reportedly hoping to bring Karlan Grant to The Hawthorns this summer as Slaven Bilic looks to bolster his ranks ahead of the Baggies’ Premier League return.

According to a report from The Telegraph from Wednesday, West Brom have seen a bid for the 22-year-old turned down by the Terriers.

Grant has been a sensation at the John Smith’s Stadium since joining in January 2019, grabbing 23 goals from 57 competitive appearances including 19 from 43 Championship games last season.

And Huddersfield teammate Tommy Elphick couldn’t sing his colleague’s praises highly enough in conversation with Examiner Live last October.

“I said when I joined the club he’s the closest thing I’ve seen to Callum Wilson and that’s a big statement coming from me, because we all know what he’s gone on to do,” said Elphick.

“We need to enjoy him whilst he’s in this form and keep pushing him forward.

“He’s on eight goals now which is an incredible achievement before we are in November. He’s making unbelievable strides, not only down the middle, but when he’s playing out wide too.

“He’s got the world at his feet but he needs to stay grounded and just keep doing what he’s doing. He really has got everything.”

Grant has not only impressed in the Championship but also has a respectable tally of four goals from 13 Premier League appearances, so there’s plenty for Bilic to work with.

As arguably Huddersfield’s biggest asset, they won’t let him go easily and for cheap – TEAMtalk suggested earlier in the summer that Grant is valued in excess of £15million.

But if West Brom are to survive in the Premier League this coming season, a player of Grant’s calibre and potential would go a long way towards potentially achieving this goal.
