Former Tottenham coach Clive Allen expects Mauricio Pochettino to remain at the club and get them out of their current slump.
As per Football.London, former Spurs striker Allen backed the Argentine to get Spurs back on song despite a clear slump.
He said: “I don’t think Spurs will lose him, not in the immediate future anyway. His frustration is that they’ve not moved on and they didn’t win the Champions League and he was so focused on actually getting there and then the opportunity was there and it didn’t happen.
“He had to pick it all up again and start again. He can do that. He’s capable of it. He’s had five magnificent years and again I equate that to Champions League qualification each year, then going to the knockout stages and then reaching the final.”
TBR’s View – International break has allowed pressure to ease somewhat on Pochettino
The international break came at the perfect time for Mauricio Pochettino. It allowed the pressure building on him to defuse to some degree, with England taking centre stage.
Spurs could hardly ask for a better game in which to get back on track, at home to a Watford side who have been woeful so far this season.
If they fail to see off the Hornets, the questions will come back, but Pochettino should be licking his lips at the prospect of getting his side’s form together on Saturday.
