The chairman of Kenyan outfit Kakamega Homeboyz Cleophas Shimanyula has branded Victor Wanyama’s situation at Tottenham Hotspur ‘not acceptable’.
The midfielder is very much in the shadows at Spurs and has featured just once under Jose Mourinho.
The captain of Kenya played for nine minutes against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, but has since been routinely snubbed by the Portuguese.

Wanyama has struggled with knee problems in recent times, and has been unable to reach the heights he hit in his first season after joining from Southampton.
He struck up a fearsome partnership with Mousa Dembele, but Wanyama is now seemingly miles off becoming a regular under Mourinho.
The situation isn’t sitting right with Wanyama’s fellow countryman Shimanyula, who reckons he needs to leave north London.

He told Goal: “He doesn’t deserve the treatment he is getting now at Spurs. Clearly, [Wanyama] has helped Spurs and was one of the key players when they reached Champions League final last season and the kind of humiliation he is going through now is not acceptable.
“It is time for [Wanyama] to make up a sober decision but if you ask me, I will tell him to move to another club, the way [Mourinho] is talking means he doesn’t have a future at the club.”
Wanyama was linked with a string of moves in January, but wage demands meant nothing materialised.
TBR’s view – Wanyama must leave this summer
Daniel Levy must ensure he gets Wanyama off the books this summer.

Clearly he isn’t in the plans of Mourinho, and he takes home a sizeable weekly wage of £65,000 (Spotrac).
Shimanyula’s comments about the situation being a ‘humiliation’ are perhaps a bit of an exaggeration, but he is right to implore the player to leave.
He needs a fresh start – with Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Gedson Fernandes all competing for minutes, he surely has to accept his future lies elsewhere.
