Leicester City manager Claude Puel is someone that does split opinion at the King Power Stadium, but for every low point there has been a high.
The Foxes are currently 12th-placed in the Premier League table as it stands and have plenty of work to do if they want to push for the European spots.
But performances have been positive recently without getting results and they are about to enter a kind run of fixtures on paper.
One of Leicester’s bright sparks from the season has to be defender Ricardo Pereira, who has been an instant success during his first year in English football.
The East Midlands club forked out £22million (Leicester Mercury) last summer to sign the right-back and he’s now a permanent starter in the team.
Puel has pulled off a masterstroke by signing the Portugal international on a deal that is now turning out to be a bargain and he’s shown faith in him.
The 25-year-old has mainly been excellent for the Foxes and just needs to cut out the odd individual error that has occurred in a couple of games.
He’s offered so much offensively from the full-back areas, with two goals and five assists already in the Premier League.
Puel previously worked with the speed machine at French club and the reunion at Leicester has gone exactly to plan by the looks of it.
Pereira is part of an exciting young team at the King Power that need to be given time to continue growing and he’s certainly been one of the most consistent performers, which is why it would be no surprise to see interest surface in him further down the line.
Puel deserves credit for bringing Pereira to Leicester and also giving him the licence to bomb forward.
