Spurs went down to Liverpool last night 3-1 as the Reds roared back to form, and former player Gary Lineker was left impressed by Trent Alexander-Arnold in the process.
The Liverpool right-back got back to somewhere near his best with a goal and an assist. He smashed in the Reds’ second before delivering a brilliant cross for Sadio Mane to seal the win.

Alexander-Arnold had been among a number of Liverpool players struggling for form of late. But the England man looked somewhere near his best last night, a point made by Lineker.
Despite his Spurs allegiances, Lineker took to Twitter to praise Alexander-Arnold, calling him a ‘class act’ for his contribution.
Lineker is known for not being overly biased in his assessments. And in fairness to him, even when he does support an old club, he usually does it with humour and dignity.
Praising the Liverpool man is nothing out of the ordinary for the MOTD host. Alexander-Arnold was key for the Reds, and it was hard to ignore his contribution.
TBR View: Trent looks like he’s back, which is worrying for the Premier League
Whatever had been missing from Alexander-Arnold’s game came back in brilliant fashion last night.
Some of his passing was unbelievable, while he was back marauding down the right side and causing havoc with his crossing and movement.
Lineker is right to praise him. As the old saying goes, form is temporary, class is permanent. That definitely applies to Alexander-Arnold here.
