Everton fans have praised Lucas Digne after he went to console Kylian Mbappe following his penalty miss for France last night.
Mbappe was the only player to miss from the spot, and he was practically left alone by his crestfallen teammates after France went out.
Everton full-back, Digne, though was determined to show his support for Mbappe as he walked off the pitch.
And Toffees supporters were delighted with their man’s actions in what was a dramatic evening at Euro 2020.
French failure
Mbappe being left alone by the majority of his teammates may tell its own story, after what has been a disappointing tournament for the PSG forward.
Mbappe failed to hit the back of the net at all in the competition, with his miss from 12 yards a huge disappointment for the French.
Didier Deschamps’ side were the favourites to lift the trophy, but their exit to Switzerland now ranks as the competition’s biggest upset so far.
Another Everton player will be in action in the tournament tonight.
Jordan Pickford is set to start for England against Germany, in what looks like a huge game for both nations, with the draw now really opening up.
