Clarke Oduor has posted a mysterious message on Instagram as he remains on the fringes of the Leeds United squad – but will he break into the senior team, or be left by the wayside?

Oduor, 19, made his debut for the senior Leeds side in January. He was given a handful of minutes by Marcelo Bielsa in the 2-1 loss to QPR in the third round of the FA Cup.

Indeed, Oduor’s excellent work in the club’s Under-23 side had seemingly paid off. The winger has been excellent for Carlos Corberan’s side, who sit at the top of the Professional Development League.

Oduor has failed to make the matchday 18 since his senior debut for the Whites, with plenty of competition ahead of him. He posted on Instagram on Tuesday, captioning the post “time will tell”.

Oduor has a contract at Elland Road until the summer of 2020. But he remains behind the likes of Gjanni Alioski, Pablo Hernandez, Jack Harrison and Jack Clarke.

With Premier League promotion on the horizon, Oduor could fall behind in the pecking order even more with new signings likely to come in.

Renowned for his pace and skill, Oduor is one of those players that can drive a team up the pitch with his direct style of play. His end product needs polishing, but he is certainly heading in the right direction.

But with just over a year remaining on his contract, the youngster is now at make or break in whether he will become a first-team star at Leeds – or decide to leave the club.
