Christian Eriksen’s long-awaited departure from Tottenham Hotspur has finally been confirmed.
The playmaker has officially left the Premier League side to join Inter Milan in a deal reported to be worth about £17 million (BBC Sport).
The star leaves having made 305 appearances for the north Londoners after joining the club from Ajax back in 2013.

Over the years Eriksen has developed into one of Europe’s best playmakers, although his form over the past year dipped significantly seemingly due to his contract situation.
Some supporters had begun to lose their patience with the 27-year-old, who continued to feature regularly for the starting XI despite all the talk of a potential exit.
A lot of his minutes seemed to come at the expense of Giovani Lo Celso, who could now really announce his arrival at Spurs with the Dane out of the picture.
Lo Celso’s loan deal was turned permanent on Tuesday (for around £30 million, Guardian), and there seems to be the feeling of a new era perhaps starting given the developments have occurred on the same day.
TBR’s view – Lo Celso can take over Eriksen’s mantle
While Eriksen was still around, it felt as though Lo Celso couldn’t really get going for Spurs.
With him now out of the picture, the Argentine playmaker could well start to thrive as previously the team couldn’t really allow for both at the same time.

During his time with Spurs Eriksen scored 51 goals and made 66 assists – which is a superb record.
Lo Celso has the capability of taking over Eriksen’s mantle now – last term the star scored 16 goals for Real Betis and tabled six assists.
Jose Mourinho deployed him at holding midfield against Norwich City, but the evidence is there from the 2018/19 campaign – when he played central midfielder or attacking midfield 30 times (Transfermarkt) – that he can be effective pulling the strings and making things happen just like Eriksen did.
