Christian Eriksen has posted on Twitter after Denmark triumph, Tottenham fans respond

Christian Eriksen has posted on Twitter after the Tottenham Hotspur star helped Denmark qualify for Euro 2020 next summer with a 1-1 draw over Ireland in Dublin – and Spurs fans have reacted to his post, with many annoyed.

Eriksen, 27, has struggled for Spurs this season with many of the belief that he has downed tools because of his current contract situation – which is expected to see the Danish ace leave either in January or at the end of his deal.

He has scored two goals this season for Spurs, but is severely lacking in form. However, he impressed on Monday night as Martin Braithwaite scored for Denmark in the 73rd minute – almost ending Ireland’s chances of qualifying via the group stage.

Wolves right-back Matt Doherty equalised in the 85th minute but Denmark held on to book their place at next summer’s competition, while Ireland will have to qualify via the play-offs. Eriksen posted on Twitter after the match.

Eriksen is expected to return to action on Saturday and be a part of the squad that travels the short distance across London to Stratford to take on rivals West Ham United at the London Stadium.

But Eriksen has annoyed Tottenham fans once again as he posted a picture of the Denmark squad celebrating. Many are annoyed at the attacking midfielder celebrating on the international scene, while struggling at club level.
