Christian Eriksen has gone missing for Tottenham during blip

Tottenham did manage to earn a point from behind in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Saturday, but it doesn’t hide the fact that their form of late in the Premier League has been poor.

Harry Kane’s second-half penalty meant Spurs drew with their North London rivals, but it was their first point in three league games and they are now back fighting for the top four by the looks of it.

Spurs previously lost to Burnley and Chelsea away from home to signal a rough patch in the season for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

One of the main reasons behind the struggles is the drop off from Christian Eriksen, who has played every minute of the last three games.

The 27-year-old midfielder is a vital cog within the team and when he’s off form the team can struggle.

Eriksen has not been directly involved in a goal in the last three games, despite scoring seven times and supplying 12 assists all season across all competitions.

The Denmark international had one decent attempt on Arsenal’s goal which was denied, but apart from that he was lacklustre at times and couldn’t be the creative force.

Some may suggest tiredness has crept into his game due to the sheer work-rate and responsibility on him, while he appears to have lost extra bite in midfield.

But he’s too good for the spell to stretch much further and Pochettino is right to let Erisken play himself back into form.

It’s certainly a headache for the Argentinian boss over whether to stick with Eriksen and the next game is huge against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
