Chris Sutton has urged Celtic to target Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna and try bring him to Parkhead for next season.
The Bhoys could do with more reinforcements in the heart of defence and pundit Sutton believes that Aberdeen’s enforcer would be a great fit.
McKenna is a highly-rated centre-back that is a key player for the Dons and also has eight senior cpas for Scotland.
The 22-year-old is a warrior in the heart of defence that has caused Celtic problems in the past and has definitely proven himself in the Scottish Premiership to a high standard.
He was valued at £10million (Daily Record) last summer when there was interest from the likes of Hull City, Swansea City and Fulham in him.
“And while Aberdeen fans may not thank me for it, Celtic should buy the best centre-back in the country this season in Scott McKenna,” Sutton wrote in the Daily Record.
“He may not be a ball-playing defender but the good thing is he knows it and keeps it simple. Ask the 22-year-old to defend and do the basics and he does it better than anyone.
“If you want someone who will head, run, put the ball in row Z occasionally when it’s required coupled with sheer guts, will to win and reliability then McKenna is your man. But Celtic need to stump up and pay the going rate.”

TBR’s View:
Celtic certainly need a couple more reinforcement in their squad going into next year if they are to continue their domestic dominance and the defence has to be a priority.
McKenna definitely has all the attributes to make the step up with the Bhoys and Sutton has hit the nail on the head by suggesting him as a target.
His £10million price tag from last year highlights how much Aberdeen rate their asset, but Celtic should fork up what’s required to land someone who knows the division and that should only improve as he matures.
