Arsenal lost to Everton last night to end a week of debacle on a low and put further pressure on Mikel Arteta and his inconsistent Gunners.
Barring an overturned penalty and a few late Jordan Pickford saves, Arsenal never really looked like winning the game against the Toffees last night. Indeed, it took a moment of calamity which summed the Gunners up, as Bernd Leno fumbled the ball into his own goal from Richarlison’s cross.

Away from the field, all eyes were on the protests outside against owner Stan Kroenke. Thousands of Arsenal fans descended on The Emirates to make their voices heard before the game, following the creation then destruction of the European Super League this week.
And watching from afar, former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton took to Twitter after the game to take a swipe at Arsenal’s lowly league position, as well as their potential inclusion in any Super League.
Mikel Arteta was unhappy after the game again. He believed VAR cost his side once more, although the offside was justice for Dani Ceballos’ ridiculous dive to try and win a penalty in the second period.
TBR View: Chris Sutton bang on, Arsenal are extremely poor at times
He divides opinion at times does Sutton, but he is bang on here with his assessment. It’s what made the creation and idea of the Super League all the more bizarre.
The Gunners are far from a ‘super’ club at the moment. Top to bottom, they seem a big mess and only a Europa League win can really salvage anything from their campaign.
Sutton, then, hits the nail on the head here.
