Chris Sutton has slammed the decision not to award Mo Salah a foul as Liverpool edged out Manchester City on Super Sunday.

Salah proved to be the hero for Liverpool anyway as his well-taken finish ensured they won 1-0 against the champions at Anfield. Salah’s finish came off a long ball from Alisson which was misjudged by Joao Cancelo, allowing Salah to pounce.

However, not everything went perfect for Liverpool and they saw manager Jurgen Klopp sent off as he protested a foul from Bernardo Silva on Salah. And commenting on the incident for the BBC, Chris Sutton slammed the call from the officials.

“How is that not a foul on Salah? It’s ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous,” Sutton said for the BBC.

Sutton went on further to say he felt sympathy with Jurgen Klopp. The Liverpool manager completely lost his rag and was given his marching orders as a result. Of course, Klopp had the last laugh in the end anyway as Salah’s goal proved enough.

“I’ve got to say, I have sympathy with Jurgen Klopp because it was a foul on Mo Salah. The assistant referee is three or four yards away,” Sutton added.

Salah, who has struggled for form this season, seems to have found his goal touch once again and now has four in his last two games. For the Reds, having Salah in form is a huge boost.

TBR’s View: Salah And Klopp Right To Bemoan Decisions

Jurgen Klopp can often irk the neutral fan but on this occasion he was well within his rights to have a go at the officials.

It was a woeful call really and one which seriously angered the Liverpool boss. However, in a way, it only served to fire up the Anfield crowd more, who were on fine form all afternoon.

Klopp and Liverpool needed this win today and while they might not win the title, it is a win which shows they’re very much a force to be reckoned with.
