Chris Sutton has admitted he feels “really sorry” for Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund.
The 20-year-old has been struggling at Old Trafford and endured a particularly difficult game last time out.
Hojlund barely saw the ball in Manchester United‘s Champions League loss to Bayern Munich and had no shots or key passes.
The Red Devils – with the Dane leading the line – struggled against a well-drilled Bavarian backline and were subsequently knocked out of Europe altogether.

Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae were able to deal with the £72million man with relative ease throughout the game.
‘The wide players want the ball all to themselves’
Sutton, speaking on the It’s All Kicking Off podcast, believes the Red Devils forward’s issues have been made worse by how his attacking teammates play.
“I felt really sorry for him,” said Sutton. “He looks a player who looks a bit low on confidence.
“But he also looks a player who I don’t think knows how to score a goal at Manchester United because the wide players want the ball all to themselves.
“Anthony the other night, the never get their heads up and pass, follow. There aren’t combinations. That’s a massive issue.”
Rasmus Hojlund needs help from Manchester United teammates
As per talkSPORT, Hojlund has attempted just 16 shots on goal in 12 Premier League games since arriving at Old Trafford.
However, the outlet also notes how the Denmark international has only been presented with eight clear chances by his Red Devils teammates.
It’s also worth remembering that the £85,000-a-week (Spotrac) ace is just 20 years old.
Hojlund has plenty of time to get better, although it would help if he got more service from the players around him.
Man United are next in action on Sunday, when they head to Liverpool in the Premier League.
