Celtic has suggested that Celtic try sign Hearts centre-forward Uche Ikpeazu in the summer.
The 24-year-old moved to Scottish Premiership outfit Hearts last summer from Cambridge United and has made a decent start.
His campaign was disrupted by a foot injury between October and January, but when he’s been on the pitch he’s made a positive impact.
The 6ft 4in colossus is a target man that holds the ball up well and has proven difficult for Celtic defenders to handle when faced against him.
He’s made 15 appearances for Hearts in all competitions, scoring four goals and supplying four assists in return.
“It wouldn’t be a bad idea for Celtic to make a move for Uche Ikeazu as well as the big striker must be an absolute nightmare to play against. He’d bring a different option, that’s for sure,” Sutton wrote in the Daily Record.
Ikpeazu is a bit of a wildcard suggestion from Sutton for Celtic and just because he’s performed against them in the league it doesn’t mean they should try sign him.
The English striker is still finding his feet really in the Scottish top flight and there has to be question marks over his technical ability.
Celtic will need to rebuild over the summer following the mid-season exit of Brendan Rodgers and they could do with an injection of quality at striker, as loanee Oliver Burke is currently the main option in that position.
Ikpeazu certainly would be something different at Parkhead with his physicality, but it would be a surprise if he could be a 20-goal striker for them.
