England vs Brazil wasn’t a game for the ages over the weekend.
The Three Lions were quite poor against the South Americans on Saturday evening, and one of their most underwhelming performers on the day was Conor Gallagher.
The Chelsea man was off the pace against Brazil it has to be said, and to make matters even worse, he dived towards the end of the game to try to win a foul.
Speaking on BBC 606, Chris Sutton has, as ever, called out this instance of diving, and he says that the £40m player really let himself down this weekend with his act of simulation.

Conor Gallagher let himself down with his diving
Sutton spoke about the Chelsea midfielder.
“The winner of the Simulation Game this week, Conor Gallagher, he has previous, Conman Gallagher, he went down to easily at the end of the game. He’s better than that, they’re both better than that. What’s going on? I didn’t think we’d play this weekend, but there’s always someone who lets us down,” Sutton said.
Conor Gallagher is above diving
We hate to see this.
Gallagher is a very good player who shouldn’t have to resort to diving to get ahead in the game.
We can almost excuse diving in a big moment in a big match as you turn to desperation to get a result, but a dive in a friendly international match is bordering on pathetic.
As Sutton says, Gallagher is way better than this. He’s a player who is easy to get behind and really enjoy watching, but as with any player, diving does just leave a sour taste in the mouth.
Gallagher needs to stamp out this part of his game, because, otherwise, he’s going to start to get a bit of a reputation.
