Chris Sutton has given his verdict on the future of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

The former Chelsea striker believes that Rashford needs to leave United.

So, what has Chris Sutton said about Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford? Let’s take a look.

Marcus Rashford told to leave Manchester United

Well, Chris Sutton has been giving his take on Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. The former Chelsea striker believes that the 26-year-old needs to leave Old Trafford.

The BBC Sport pundit has said that he does not think that Rashford is working hard enough for the team on the pitch. Sutton thinks that it would be better for the 26-year-old to leave the former Premier League champions.

Sutton said about Rashford on the It’s All Kickoff Off podcast: “He looks tormented at this moment in time. I think for him and his career, at this moment in time he looks bored and stale.

“I think he is a player who needs a move away from Old Trafford and a fresh challenge.

“This was a debate doing the rounds a couple of seasons ago, but he just seems to be meandering along.

“There are questions about his work ethic within the team and I think that’s a totally legitimate question and criticism.

“He doesn’t look like he is working hard enough. I think he is a player who needs a fresh challenge.”

Tough for Marcus Rashford to leave Manchester United

In my view, it is not going to be easy for Marcus Rashford to leave Manchester United.

The England international has been on the books of United since 2005. He has come through the Red Devils’ academy and has now established himself in the first team.

Rashford has made 254 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The forward has scored 78 goals and provided 38 assists in those games.

The problem with Rashford is not that he has not always been consistent. For example, there was a spell last season when he was superb. But, he is not doing well at the moment. Mikel John Obi has also criticised him.

Rashford is 26 now, and I believe that he needs to add consistency to his game. He is about to hit his best years.
