Chris Sutton was overjoyed on Twitter immediately after Celtic recorded a famous home win against Lazio on Thursday night.

Neil Lennon’s team came from behind to beat their Italian opponents 2-1 at Parkhead in the Europa League group stages.

The Scottish champions now look in a great position to qualify after earning three points at home to Lazio and it took a late comeback win.

Manuel Lazzari had put the visitors in front just before half-time with a slick counter-attacking goal and they looked a serious threat going forward.

But the Bhoys stuck in the contest and talisman Ryan Christie netted an equaliser in the 67th minute with his left-footed striker.

Celtic defender Christopher Jullien then powered in a header from a corner to send the home crowd wild, as they turned over one of the strongest teams in the Europa League competition.

Sutton on Twitter singled out Jullien and goalkeeper Fraser Forster for special praise, with the latter making a remarkable save in stoppage time to maintain the lead.

TBR’s View:

It was a huge night for Scottish teams in Europe and Celtic sent out a real statement with their victory against a quality team like Lazio.

There is no reason now that they can’t be ambitious in going far into the Europa League competition and their strong home form can be a match for anyone.

Jullien popped up with a decisive moment that shows that paying £7million (BBC) for him was a masterstroke, while the form of goalkeeper Forster has been immense since he rejoined Celtic on loan from Southampton.

They have the quality in attack to cause opponents problems and most importantly have a solid defence to fall back on.
